The quartz clock movement is installed and requires one AA battery (not included). AA batteries will typically last a couple years in a quartz clock movement device. The clock movement does not include a second hand, so there is no ticking sound.

Clocks are shipped completely assembled. Please be cautious when unpacking the clock as the hands are delicate, the clock is open faced and not covered by glass.
